The Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce held the monthly meeting at the Village Offices on Tuesday September 14, 2021 at 7:31am.

Trustees Present: Keith Kessen, Megan Stull, Jon Dingledine, Eric Thomas, Gina Hess, Kylie Thwaits, Bryce Schlater, Jason Wood, Amy Spriggs, Morgan Bechtol, and Michelle Clune.

Guests: 

Molly Hay and Nancy Hartke from the Kiwanis provided an update on the Christmas in the Park event, which will begin in December. A lot of work has went into the event. They have received a lot of volunteer support to help with the many events that will be taking place.

Officer Reports

Treasurer’s Report-was presented by Kylie Thwaits. The reports were motioned to approve by Jon Dingledine and seconded by Bryce Schlater.

  • Checking balance as of August 31, 2021: $31,673.76
  • Gift Certificate balance as of August 31, 2021: $18,050.04

 

Secretary’s Report– minutes from the August 10, 2021 were presented by Jon Dingledine. The minutes were motioned to approve by Kylie Thwaits and seconded by Michelle Clune.

Committee Reports

  • Membership
    • We have (1) new member – GK’s Custom Polishing out of Avon, OH.

  • Website/ Social Media
    • Amy Spriggs continues to post updates to the website and on social media. A focus has been put on trying to highlight businesses that don’t routinely post themselves.

Old Business

  • Where’s Charlie
    • Cindy Wenning was the August winner and received a $25 Chamber gift certificate

New Business

  • Where’s Charlie
    • Keith Kessen discussed beginning in August.

  • Hometown Christmas
    • The event is taking place on Sunday, November 21st from 11:30AM–3:00PM. Committee members include Gina Hess, Kirstie Miller, and Bryce Schlater. We will not be having reindeer this year. Sponsorship forms will be emailed to businesses.

  • 2022 Chamber Banquet
    • Planning is continuing. Keith will be contacting the Legion to reserve Wednesday, February 9th.

  • Street Corner Brochures
    • Discussion was had regarding the possibility of creating a brochure containing a map detailing the locations of businesses in the community. Additional research and information was going to be gathered.

Other Business

Morgan Bechtol brought in coffee and breakfast treats from McDonalds. Thanks Morgan!

Gina Hess motioned to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Megan Stull. President Keith Kessen adjourned the meeting at 8:24 A.M.
