Our banquet is a time to reflect on all our chamber members and honor those who are paving a path, making a difference, or helping others in our community.  This is also a great way to stay informed of what the Coldwater Chamber is doing for our members and ways we can help your business thrive locally.

Descriptions & Qualifications

Business of the Year:

The Business of the Year Award is presented to an organization that stands out and above the others for this year. The organization must be recognized in the community as a business that follows sound and fair business practices. The winner of this award should be an organization that remembers the community in which it relies on for its prosperity by working with charity, school, church and Chamber events to enhance the quality of life for all. The recipient may be one that demonstrates an innovative and "thinking out-of-the-box" style management to achieve high service, profitability and employee retention.

Community Improvement:

This award is presented to someone who goes to great lengths to improve the physical and esthetic appearance of the community. The recipient may be a group or an individual who puts time, effort, and in some instances, financial support to achieve projects that add value, entertainment, and a better quality of life for all those in the community. This is all done without want for thanks or praise.

Citizen of the Year:

This award may be given to more than one group or person based on the number of recommendations from the community. The recipient should be of good character and one who demonstrates good moral values. This person or group is always looking for ways to help others and never asks for anything in return. The recipient of this award has been trying to improve the lives of our citizens for years. Volunteering at the hospital, hospice, bloodmobile, school functions, and church activities are all ways for a community member to show that he or she cares about the well-being of others. 

Organization of the Year:

The Organization of the Year Award is presented to an organization that contributes to the greater good of the local community. The organization must be recognized in the community as a group conducts ethical and charitable activities. The winner of this award should be an organization that contributes to the community in which it resides by working with businesses, other organizations, schools, churches and/or Chamber events to enhance the quality of life for all. The recipient should be recognized for demonstrating a high level of volunteerism and/or goodwill for the community.

Volunteer of the Year:

This recipient is truly one-of-a-kind person who is always looking out for his/her neighbor and is always ready to help at a moment's notice at community events. This individual is one who gives time, talents and resources to help others and is active in social groups, as well as volunteers regularly. 

Youth in Action Award:

This Chamber award is presented to a high school aged student who works or volunteers at a member business, who shows exceptional work/volunteer ethic, are good employees/volunteers regarding attitude, attendance, community service, etc. Explain why this student is nominated, length of work/volunteer service and anything else to justify the Youth in Action Award.
