What Does A Trustee Do?
Trustees serve a 3 year term.  They help discuss ways the chamber can help support, grow, and promote chamber member businesses.  Trustees will be assigned to subcommittees to help plan and organize the signature events. Someone helps out with social media and website.  The Chamber is always looking for ways to grow their membership and find ways to improve the community of Coldwater.  Some trustees will move into officer positions right away after 1 year of being a Trustee.
The President serves a 1-year term and is typically a third year trustee.  The President is responsible for organizing and overseeing the subcommittees and signature events, chairing the monthly meetings, and making administrative decisions. Primarily, the President is the point of internal and external communication for the chamber and directs the chamber in order to support, grow, and promote chamber member businesses.
The Vice-President (VP) serves a 1-year term and is typically a first or second year trustee.  The VP is responsible for assisting the President in all responsibilities and identifying improvements in activities and processes. The VP is a back-up to the President for chairing the monthly meetings, and the VP is primarily responsible for preparing to assume the President role the following year.
The Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the Chamber. The Treasurer is responsible for deposits, paying bills, doing the monthly treasurer reports, and yearly budgets. The Treasurer is also responsible for balancing the chamber gift certificate program, which includes deposits and paying members when they bring in chamber gift certificates they receive.
The Secretary is in charge of note keeping for the Chamber. The Secretary compiles Meeting Minutes from the monthly trustee meetings, manages the email account and responds to businesses in a timely manner.
We would love to hear from you!
